Privacy Policy for Business

Hangouts for Business — Effective date: July 18, 2026

This Business Privacy Policy describes how Hangouts (“the App,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards the information belonging to businesses, merchants, and their authorized representatives (collectively, “Business,” “Merchant,” or “you”) who utilize the Hangouts advertising and merchant services platform.

1. Information We Collect

To operate the Business Services and manage commercial partnerships, we collect the following categories of information:

  • Business Profile Information: Business name, physical address, corporate entity name, customer service contact details, industry category, operating hours, and official website URL.
  • Authorized Representative Data: First and last name, professional email address, phone number, and account login credentials of the personnel managing the business profile.
  • Business Content: Media assets (photos, promotional graphics), promotional descriptions, event listings, menu details, and specific reward offerings uploaded to your public dashboard.
  • Financial and Billing Information: Credit card numbers, bank account details, billing addresses, and tax identification numbers necessary to process future service payments or reward program reconciliations.
  • Performance Metrics: Aggregated data concerning user interactions with your business page, ad impressions, click-through rates, and point redemption analytics.

2. How We Use Business Information

We utilize the collected data to:

  • Set up, verify, and maintain your official Hangouts Business Page.
  • Serve targeted advertising, promotions, and location-based recommendations to consumer users based on their geographic proximity to your physical establishment.
  • Feature your brand, trademarks, and venue photos on our official social media channels, internal newsletters, and within marketing campaigns to highlight your partnership status.
  • Facilitate the tracking, authentication, and processing of the Hangouts Points and Rewards Program when a consumer redeems user points at your business.
  • Process financial transactions, issue monthly billing invoices, and prevent fraudulent activity.
  • Analyze platform engagement trends to improve our business-facing toolsets and dashboard analytics.

3. Information Sharing and Public Visibility

  • Public Visibility: Any data you choose to display on your public Business Page—including your business name, address, photos, descriptions, operating hours, and website links—is fully visible to all consumer users of the Hangouts application.
  • Social Media and Promotional Placement: As outlined in the Business Terms of Service, your business name, logo, and public images may be displayed across third-party social media platforms and public marketing channels to announce or promote your active partnership with Hangouts.
  • Legal Compliance and Safety: We may share or disclose business information if required by applicable local, state, or federal laws, or if necessary to protect the security, assets, or intellectual property rights of Hangouts, our consumer community, or the public.
  • No Commercial Data Selling: Hangouts does not sell, rent, or lease proprietary merchant list data or identifying business representative information to external marketing agencies or third-party brokers.

4. Data Retention and Security

We adopt rigorous technical, administrative, and physical security measures designed to protect your billing information, credential logs, and administrative files against unauthorized access, loss, alteration, or disclosure.

Your business profiles and associated promotional records are retained for as long as your account remains active or as required by applicable tax, accounting, or consumer compliance laws.

5. Merchant Controls and Choice

  • Dashboard Modification: You may edit, update, or remove promotional text, event details, venue imagery, or external website URLs directly through the business dashboard panel.
  • Rewards Program Opt-Out: You may independently opt into or out of the Hangouts Points and Rewards Program through your account controls. Disabling the program will immediately prevent future consumer point claims, though previously redeemed user rewards must be honored as per our terms.
  • Account Deactivation: You may request the permanent closure of your business profile and the removal of your active advertisements by contacting our merchant support services. Residual metadata, transaction ledgers, and billing histories may remain securely archived to satisfy audit and legal compliance obligations.

6. Children’s Privacy

The Business Services portal is strictly restricted to adult business operators and legally authorized corporate representatives. We do not knowingly collect personal or profiling information from individuals under the age of 18 within this business application layer.

7. Updates to this Policy

Hangouts reserves the right to modify this Business Privacy Policy at any time. Significant updates or structural revisions will be communicated directly through your registered business email address or via an administrative notice posted inside the merchant control dashboard. Continued use of our advertising toolsets following an update constitutes definitive acceptance of the revised policy terms.
